While we offer wrapped coping as our own in-house finish, we appreciate the pairing of a contemporary travertine coping — installed by a pool contractor — with our Resilion overlay. Travertine brings a touch of natural beauty to the pool’s focal point, where it’s admired more than lived on. As a surface underfoot, it runs warmer and less slip-resistant than rubberized coatings. Together, travertine coping and a Resilion deck offer the best of both worlds: natural elegance at the water’s edge, and the most comfortable, lifestyle-supportive surface everywhere else. The scope of this renovation extended well beyond new decking. The pool itself (at nearly 1,000 square feet) was larger than the client wanted to maintain, so a significant portion was filled in prior to surfacing. The deck presented its own technical complexity: three distinct substrate types across a single installation. The main deck ran over pavers and concrete, while the under-roof lanai area presented an additional challenge: original glazed tile set directly into the concrete pour, one of the more demanding substrates for long-term overlay adhesion. Resilion performed seamlessly across all three substrates. The glazed tile required only a light surface grind before installation, with no demolition. The clients’ color selection reflects the same careful eye brought to every element of this renovation — a subtle main blend with just a hint of blue accent, echoing the pool’s interior and tying the entire outdoor space into a cohesive, quietly sophisticated finish.
